Presentation of PPA S.A.’s 2025 Financial Results to the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association

PPA S.A. presented its financial results for fiscal year 2025 to the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association at Euronext Athens. The presentation was delivered by Company executives, led by Deputy CEO Mr. Angelos Karakostas, and was followed by a discussion with the participating institutional investors and analysts, during which questions were addressed regarding the performance of the port’s business activities.
In fiscal year 2025, PPA S.A. once again recorded the highest performance in its history in terms of revenue and EBITDA. Specifically, total revenue for the year amounted to €250.8 million, increased by 8.6% or €19.9 million compared to 2024 (€230.9 million). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to €132.3 million, marking an increase of 2.2%. Profit after tax stood at €86.2 million, down by 1.5%. The results confirm the Company’s strong resilience in a period of significant challenges. Finally, the proposed dividend per share amounted to €1.896, thereby maintaining a stable dividend policy, with the distribution of 55% of net profit as a return to shareholders.
It is also noted that the Company’s strong performance was not recorded only at an aggregate level, but also across individual port activities. The cruise sector recorded an all-time high in passenger traffic, with 1.86 million passengers, confirming Piraeus’ position as a leading hub in the Eastern Mediterranean. At the same time, the container terminal – Pier I, also recorded an all-time throughput record of 664,581 TEU.
These strong results were achieved despite the 28.4% decrease in revenue in the ferry shipping sector, due to the reduction in port fees from May 2025, following a relevant request by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy aimed at maintaining ferry ticket prices, and in response to PPA S.A.’s positive contribution within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Despite the demanding international environment, the Company continues to create significant value for its shareholders and the Greek economy, while at the same time implementing major investments that modernise and upgrade the port’s infrastructure, enabling it to continue playing a leading role in the future.

PPA S.A: An investment in Piraeus centered on people and quality of life

A new landmark for the city of Piraeus is being created, strengthening the connection between the port, the city, and its citizens. This is a modern, open public space designed to serve as a place for gathering, recreation, and creative activities for people of all ages. On Tuesday, April 28, Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) presented the commencement of construction works for a new Park featuring a Model Playground and a Bike Lane, reaffirming its commitment to investments with a meaningful social impact.
The event coincided with the completion of ten years (2016–2026) since the beginning of COSCO SHIPPING’s partnership with Piraeus Port Authority (PPA), a collaboration that has played a decisive role in strengthening the port’s international position, as well as contributing significantly to the development of the Greek economy.
The Park, currently under construction within the port zone in the cruise area, will be an open, safe, and fully accessible space for recreation and sports for all citizens, including people with disabilities. The model playground will provide a modern and creative environment for children of all ages, while the bike lane will promote soft mobility and sustainable transportation.
At the same time, the project is expected to significantly upgrade the wider cruise terminal area, connecting the port with the city and improving visitors’ experience. In this way, Piraeus further strengthens its profile as a modern, welcoming, and attractive destination, while the project contributes to creating a positive first impression of Greece as a whole.
As emphasized by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PPA S.A., Han Chao, the new project is not merely another infrastructure development, but an investment in people, quality of life, and the future of the city. Among other remarks, he stated: “We perceive the port as a vivid entity inseparably connected with the city of Piraeus and its people. The development of the port goes hand in hand with respect for the local community, and within this framework, we will continue implementing projects that strengthen sustainable development and create long-term value for all”.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Hellenic Republic, Fang Qiu, who referred to the significance of the project as an example of strengthening Greek-Chinese cooperation, underlining that socially oriented investments contribute to further enhancing the relations between the two countries and to the promotion of sustainable development.
Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Stefanos Gkikas, the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs, Domna Michailidou, and the Mayor of Piraeus, Yiannis Moralis. All speakers emphasized that this is a high value-added intervention that substantially improves citizens’ daily lives, enhances quality of life in the city, and contributes to the sustainable urban development of Piraeus.
Mr. Gkikas stated: “Just as it is important for a port to contribute to the country’s economy, it is equally important for it to return tangible benefits to society and its citizens. It is precisely within this context that the park currently under construction within the port zone takes shape.
The development of port infrastructure must go hand in hand with projects that improve the everyday lives of citizens.”
Ms. Michailidou underlined: “The Port of Piraeus does not look only towards the sea and the world, but also towards the city and its people.
Congratulations on the design and implementation of this project. I wish that the PPA Park will become a vibrant space for gathering, creativity and everyday joy for young and old alike.”
Mr. Moralis noted: “The creation of the new PPA Park is an important addition for the city of Piraeus, as it enhances residents’ daily life and contributes to the gradual upgrading of the wider cruise area. The city and the port should always have as a common goal the improvement of the quality of life of the people of Piraeus.”
The blessing ceremony of the event was conducted by His Eminence Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim.
The event was moderated by journalist Ms. Velika Karavaltsiou.
PPA S.A. reaffirmed that it invests not only in infrastructure, but also in relationships of trust with the local community, placing particular emphasis on cooperation with the State, the Region, and the Municipality of Piraeus for the implementation of projects with lasting social benefit.

PPA S.A.: Emergency Preparedness Drill for Sea Pollution Response at the Port of Piraeus

On March 31st, an activation drill of the PPA Spillage Contingency Plan was conducted at the Cruise Terminal of PPA S.A., simulating a sea pollution incident.
The exercise was carried out following a directive issued by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, as part of the implementation of preparedness exercises at a national level.
At the Port of Piraeus, the emergency response drill was organized in cooperation with Antipollution SA and simulated an oil spill response scenario involving a cruise vessel.
During the exercise, emergency response equipment was deployed and operated, including antipollution floating barriers, skimmers, and containment booms. A floating containment barrier was also deployed around the cruise vessel, supported by the response vessels Orca, Eco Wave, and Fighter.
The drill was successfully completed, with all prescribed procedures implemented as planned.
Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening coordination, operational readiness, and environmental protection capabilities across the maritime sector.

PPA S.A.: Transportation of Electric Buses through the Port of Piraeus

In the early morning hours of Saturday, 4 April, 155 electric buses manufactured by Yutong were successfully received and unloaded by Piraeus Port Authority staff at the Port’s Car Terminal. Of these, 125 will be added to the fleet of OSY S.A. (Athens Urban Transport Organization), while the remaining 30 are destined for Serbia.
The buses were received at the Port of Piraeus by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Konstantinos Kyranakis, the Secretary General of Transport, Mr. Stelios Sakaretsios, the CEO of OSY S.A., Mr. Stefanos Agiasoglou, and on behalf of PPA S.A., the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Angelos Karakostas.
As Mr. Karakostas stated, “the Port of Piraeus reaffirms its role as a vital link in the supply chain, and operating around the clock, 365 days a year, it is ready to respond with speed and high-level services even to the most demanding cargo. We are particularly pleased when the cargo we are called upon to handle comes to contribute to improving the quality of life of Greek citizens, as is the case with these electric buses.”

PPA S.A.: Financial Results for Fiscal Year 2025 – Further Increase in Revenue and EBITDA – Stable Dividend Policy

Piraeus Port Authority S.A. announced its financial results for fiscal year 2025, reporting record-high revenue and EBITDA, as well as strong performance across its key business segments.
Total revenue amounted to €250.8 million, increased by 8.6% or €19.9 million compared to 2024. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached €132.3 million, marking an increase of 2.2%, while profit after tax amounted to €86.2 million, down by 1.5%. The results confirm the company’s strong resilience in a period of significant challenges. At the same time, cash and cash equivalents stood at €149.8 million as of 31 December 2025.
Management is proposing a dividend distribution of €1.896 per share, broadly in line with the corresponding dividend of €1.92 per share in 2024. The company maintains a stable dividend policy, distributing 55% of net profit as a return to shareholders.
Across the individual business segments, the cruise sector recorded a new all-time high in passenger traffic and revenue, which increased by 24.8%. Strategic planning and targeted partnerships further strengthened Piraeus’ position as a leading cruise hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The car terminal posted a slight revenue decrease of 5.4%, due to extraordinary storage revenues recorded in 2024. Significant increase was displayed in transshipment cargo, which rose by 17.6%, highlighting the segment’s competitiveness.
Pier I, which is directly managed by PPA S.A., recorded a 17.0% increase in revenue, as a result of higher cargo throughput, and for the first time in its history reported net profitability. Piers II and III recorded a 10.8% increase in revenue despite lower throughput, particularly in the second half of the year. Overall, activity in the container terminals demonstrated notable resilience, significantly increasing the total revenue of Piers I, II and III, despite the ongoing impact of the Red Sea crisis, which has kept the route via the Suez Canal closed.
In the ferry shipping sector, revenue decreased by 28.4% due to the reduction in port fees from May 2025, following a relevant request by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, aimed at maintaining ferry ticket prices, and in response to PPA S.A.’s positive contribution within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility. The number of passengers and vehicles increased once again, confirming Piraeus’ crucial role as a key pillar of domestic ferry services and of the connectivity between mainland Greece and the islands.
The ship repair zone maintained strong activity in 2025; however, total revenue from ship repair operations declined by 7.2%, mainly due to the four-month maintenance shutdown of one of the docks.
The CEO of PPA S.A., Mr. Su Xudong, stated:
“The year 2025 confirmed the Company’s steady growth trajectory, delivering strong financial and operational performance. Despite a challenging international environment, we achieved new positive results, while continuing to invest systematically in the future of the port.
