Performance Shipping Inc. Announces Appointment Of New Chief Executive Officer And Chief Financial Officer

Performance Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of tankers, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Andreas Michalopoulos to the position of Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Mr. Symeon Palios from that position. The Board also has appointed Mr. Anthony Argyropoulos to the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Company, succeeding Mr. Michalopoulos in that capacity. Mr. Palios will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Michalopoulos has served as the Company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer since 2019 and as its Chief Financial Officer since the Company’s formation in 2010. Mr. Argyropoulos’ biography is set forth below.
Commenting on the appointments, Mr. Palios stated:

Mr. Michalopoulos further commented:

Anthony Argyropoulos is the founder of Oceanaut Capital MIKE (dba Seaborne Capital Advisors), an Athens Greece based financial advisory firm focused on the shipping and maritime industries. Prior to Seaborne Capital Advisors, Mr. Argyropoulos was a Partner at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. until September 2011, where he was responsible for the investment banking group’s activities in the maritime sector. Through early 2004, he was a Senior Vice President with Jefferies & Company, Inc. where he was instrumental in developing their maritime investment banking practice. Mr. Argyropoulos graduated from Deree College, Athens, with a B.A. in Economics and from Bentley College, Waltham, Mass. with an M.B.A. in Finance. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society of collegiate schools of business. Dr Christian Hermelingmeier becomes new Chief Financial Officer of HDI Global SE

Dr Christian Hermelingmeier will become the new Chief Financial Officer of HDI Global SE commencing 1 September 2020. He succeeds Clemens Jungsthöfel, who is joining the Executive Boards of Hannover Rück SE and E+S Rückversicherung AG on the same date. The latter will take over from the current Chief Financial Officer Roland Vogel, who is retiring on 30 September 2020.
Clemens Jungsthöfel (49) has been a member of the Executive Board of HDI Global SE since May 2018 with responsibility for the areas of controlling, risk management, corporate development and passive reinsurance. He played a highly successful part in stabilising HDI Global SE, provided pivotal support for the rehabilitation of property business and successfully restructured the finance function.

These personnel changes are subject to the approval of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
GasLog Ltd. and GasLog Partners LP Announce Chief Financial Officer Transition

GasLog Ltd. and GasLog Partners LP. announced that, following GasLog’s decision to base its senior management, including the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) position, in Greece, Alastair Maxwell has decided not to relocate and will therefore step down from his position as CFO on June 30, 2020. The Boards of GasLog and GasLog Partners have appointed Achilleas Tasioulas, who is presently Deputy CFO, as CFO, effective July 1, 2020. During this period, Alastair will work closely with Achilleas to ensure an orderly transition of responsibilities and Alastair will remain available after leaving to provide his experience and advice, if required.
Alastair Maxwell joined GasLog in February 2017 following 29 years in investment banking and was appointed CFO of GasLog and GasLog Partners in March 2017. His wealth of experience in both energy and finance has been a major asset to the Group across all areas of the Finance function, including leading the debt and equity capital raisings to fund the Group’s expansion.
Achilleas Tasioulas became Deputy CFO of GasLog in December 2019. He joined GasLog in October 2014 as Financial Controller and his role was expanded to Chief Risk Officer, Financial Controller and Head of Tax in August 2017. Achilleas is also a Board Member of Gastrade and a Director of several Group subsidiaries. Immediately prior to joining GasLog, Achilleas was Corporate Controller for NYSE-listed Danaos Corporation for 6 years. He is an ICAEW Fellow Chartered Accountant, has an MSc in Project Analysis, Finance and Investments from the University of York and a BSc in Economics from the University of Macedonia in Greece.

Appointment of Piraeus Bank Group Chief Financial Officer

Piraeus Bank has announced that Theodore Gnardellis has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer, an Executive General Manager role, and member of Piraeus Bank Executive Committee, effective July 25, 2019.
Theodore Gnardellis joined Piraeus Bank in June 2018 as head of the Piraeus Legacy Unit Strategy, after a successful career of more than fifteen years in different organizations and banks in Greece and abroad. Theodore holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering & Informatics from the University of Patras and a Masters of Business Administration from the Imperial College Business School, London.
With the assumption of new responsibilities, Theodore Gnardellis will have under his supervision the Group Financial Management, with main responsibility the development of the overall strategy and the management and coordination of the Group’s financial activities.
Konstantinos Paschalis, CFO, General Manager and member of Piraeus Bank Executive Committee, will continue to contribute in Group Financial Management with his expertise and long experience.
Navios Maritime Containers L.P. appoints Erifili Tsironi as Chief Financial Officer

Navios Maritime Containers L.P., a growth vehicle dedicated to the container sector of the maritime industry, announced today the appointment of Mrs. Erifili Tsironi as Chief Financial Officer of Navios Containers.
Mrs. Tsironi previously served as Co-Chief Financial Officer of Navios Maritime Acquisition Corporation since December of 2018 and as Chief Financial Officer of Navios Maritime Midstream Partners L.P. from its inception in 2014 until December 2018.
Mrs. Tsironi has over 17 years of experience in banking focusing on ship finance. Before joining Navios Maritime Midstream Partners L.P., she was Global Dry Bulk Sector Coordinator and Senior Vice President at DVB Bank SE.
Mrs. Tsironi holds a BSc. in Economics, awarded with Honours, from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance, awarded with Distinction, from Cass Business School of City University in London.
Mr. Chris Christopoulos, who previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Navios Containers, recently left the company.
