Safe Bulkers, Inc. Announces Sale of one Panamax Class Dry-bulk Vessel
Safe Bulkers, Inc., an international provider of marine drybulk transportation services, announced that it has entered into an agreement for the sale of a Kamsarmax MV Efrossini, a 2012 Japanese-built, Panamax class, dry-bulk vessel at a gross sale price of $22.5 million and forward delivery date within June 2023.
Upon delivery to new owners, the vessel will be chartered back by the Company at a gross daily charter rate of $16,050 for a period of ten to fourteen months.

Diana Shipping Inc. Announces the Sale of a Panamax Dry Bulk Vessel, the m/v Melia
Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership and bareboat charter-in of dry bulk vessels, announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell one of its dry bulk vessels, the m/v Melia, to OceanPal Inc., a related party. The aggregate sale price of the vessel is US$14.0 million. Of the sale price, US$4.0 million was paid upon signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and the remaining amount will be paid upon the delivery of the vessel in the form of shares of the OceanPal Inc.’s Series D Preferred Stock, the terms of which are set forth in the statement of designation of the Series D Preferred Stock. The aggregate sale price was agreed upon based on the average of two independent shipbroker vessel valuations, taking into account the share-based component of the consideration.
The m/v Melia is a 2005-built Panamax dry bulk vessel with a carrying capacity of 76,225 dwt. Delivery to the buyer is expected to occur by the end of February 2023. The sale and purchase of the vessel was made pursuant to OceanPal Inc.’s exercise of a right of first refusal granted by the Company on six identified vessels (including the m/v Melia) based on an agreement dated November 8, 2021. The sale of the m/v Melia to OceanPal Inc. was approved by a committee of independent members of the Company’s Board of Directors.
Upon completion of the previously announced sale of m/v Aliki and the aforementioned sale, Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet will consist of 41 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 10 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 7 Panamax and 9 Ultramax). As of today, the combined carrying capacity of our fleet, including the m/v Melia and the m/v Aliki, is approximately 4.9 million dwt with a weighted average age of 10.27 years.
OceanPal Inc. Announces Entry Into Agreement to Acquire a Panamax Dry Bulk Vessel
OceanPal Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of vessels, announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement dated February 1, 2023, to acquire the m/v Melia from Diana Shipping Inc., a related party of the Company, for an aggregate purchase price of US$14.0 million. Of the purchase price, US$4.0 million was paid in cash upon the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and the remaining amount is expected to be paid upon delivery of the vessel to OceanPal Inc. in the form of shares of the Company’s Series D Preferred Stock, the terms of which are set forth in the statement of designation of the Series D Preferred Stock. The aggregate purchase price of the vessel was based on the average of two independent shipbroker valuations, after taking into account the share-based component of the consideration.

Diana Shipping Inc. Announces Sale of a Panamax Dry Bulk Vessel, the m/v Oceanis; and a Time Charter Contract for m/v New York
Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party, the 2001-built vessel “Oceanis”, with delivery to the buyer latest by April 16, 2021, for a sale price of US$5.75 million before commissions.
The Company also announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with EGPN Bulk Carrier Co., Limited, Hong Kong, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v New York. The gross charter rate is US$14,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until minimum April 16, 2022 up to maximum June 30, 2022. The charter is expected to commence on December 27, 2020.
The “New York” is a 177,773 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2010.
This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$6.57 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
Upon completion of the aforementioned sale and the previously announced sales of one Panamax dry bulk vessel, the m/v Coronis, and one Capesize dry bulk vessel, the m/v Sideris GS , Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet will consist of 37 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 12 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 5 Kamsarmax and 11 Panamax). As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the Company’s fleet, including the m/v Oceanis, the m/v Coronis and the m/v Sideris GS is approximately 5.0 million dwt with a weighted average age of 10.20 years.

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX), (the “Company”), a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party, the 2006-built vessel “Coronis”, with delivery to the buyer latest by January 20, 2021, for a sale price of US$7.1 million before commissions.
Upon completion of the aforementioned sale, Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet will consist of 39 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 13 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 5 Kamsarmax and 12 Panamax). As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the Company’s fleet, including the m/v Coronis, is approximately 5.0 million dwt with a weighted average age of 9.95 years.
Diana Shipping Inc. Announces Cancellation of the Sale of a Panamax Dry Bulk Vessel, the m/v Calipso
Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, announced that it has received a notice of cancellation of the Memorandum of Agreement (the “Contract”), between a separate wholly-owned subsidiary and an unaffiliated third party, to sell the 2005-built Panamax vessel “Calipso”, as previously announced.
The buyers elected to exercise their right to cancel the Contract as a result of vessel’s missing the cancelling date stipulated therein, due to unforeseen events, unrelated to the condition of the vessel, and have requested the refund of the deposit of the purchase price held in joint escrow account by the deposit holder. The Company has taken steps to release the deposit to the buyers.
Upon completion of the previously announced sale of one Capesize dry bulk vessel, the m/v Norfolk, Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet will consist of 41 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 13 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 5 Kamsarmax and 14 Panamax). As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the Company’s fleet, including the m/v Norfolk, is approximately 5.2 million dwt with a weighted average age of 9.66 years.
