Η αμερικανική επενδυτική εταιρεία Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) υπέβαλε πρόταση εξαγοράς της νορβηγικής εταιρείας Ocean Yield, που έχει στην ιδιοκτησία της πλοία, εναντι 7,2 δισ. κορωνών (829 εκατ. δολάρια).
Το Δ.Σ. της Ocean Yields υποστήριξε την πρόταση, και ο μεγαλύτερος μέτοχός της, η νορβηγική Aker ASA, τόνισε ότι συμφώνησε να πουλήσει το 61,65% στην KKR.
Ocean Yield: Sale of dry bulk vessel
SBI Virgo is an ultramax dry bulk vessel built in 2017 and employed on a long-term charter to Scorpio Bulkers Inc.
In the charter contract, Scorpio Bulkers Inc. has an option to sell SBI Virgo to an unrelated third party, which has now been declared. Ocean Yield ASA will receive proceeds of about USD 20 million and record a small book profit from the sale. Delivery of the vessel is expected during Q1 2021.

SBI Libra is an ultramax dry bulk vessel built in 2017 and employed on a long-term charter to Scorpio Bulkers Inc.
Scorpio Bulkers Inc. has declared an option to sell SBI Libra to an unrelated third party. Ocean Yield ASA will receive proceeds of USD about 20 million and record a small book profit from the sale. Delivery of the vessel is expected during Q1 2021.
Ocean Yield Wins Arbitration Against Okeanis ECO Tankers for four VLCCs
In October 2019, Okeanis ECO Tankers (“Okeanis”) served a notice to exercise options to repurchase four VLCCs (“the Vessels”) that earlier had been bought by Ocean Yield ASA (“Ocean Yield”) and chartered back to Okeanis on long-term charters. The parties disagreed if the conditions for exercising the options had been fulfilled, and the matter was therefore referred to arbitration.
An arbitration tribunal has decided that Okeanis did not have the right to exercise such options to repurchase the Vessels under the lease agreements.
