Piraeus Port Authority S.A. and the National Technical University of Athens Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), launching a strategic collaboration in the fields of research, technological advancement, and sustainable port development.
The Memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the academic community and the port industry through joint initiatives in areas such as smart port technologies, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, maritime safety, and logistics. It also establishes a framework for collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and educational activities, fostering the development of advanced solutions for the maritime sector.
On the signing, the Chairman of PPA S.A., Mr. Han Chao stated:
“Our cooperation with the National Technical University of Athens marks an important step in strengthening the connection between academia and the port industry. By leveraging NTUA’s scientific expertise alongside PPA’s operational experience, we are creating the conditions to develop advanced solutions that will support the sustainable development of the Port of Piraeus.”

Υπερταμείο/Growthfund – Υπουργείο Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων Κύπρου (ΥΜΕΕ): Υπογραφή MoU για την ανάπτυξη και διαχείριση λιμενικών υποδομών
Το Υπερταμείο και το Υπουργείο Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας (ΥΜΕΕ) υπέγραψαν σήμερα, Τετάρτη, 28 Μαΐου, συμφωνία συνεργασίας με στόχο την ανταλλαγή τεχνογνωσίας και δεδομένων για την ανάπτυξη και διαχείριση των λιμενικών υποδομών στις δύο χώρες.
Τη συμφωνία υπέγραψαν η Γενική Διευθύντρια του ΥΜΕΕ, Δρ. Μαρίνα Ιωάννου Χασάπη εκ μέρους του Υπουργείου Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, ο Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Υπερταμείου, Ιωάννης Παπαχρήστου και ο Αναπληρωτής Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Υπερταμείου, Παναγιώτης Σταμπουλίδης, παρουσία του Πρέσβη της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στην Ελλάδα, Σταύρου Αυγουστίδη.
Το Υπερταμείο με την πλούσια τεχνογνωσία που διαθέτει και με την ιδιότητά του ως Αρχή Σχεδιασμού Λιμένων, θα συνδράμει στην προσπάθεια του Υπουργείου Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας για τον σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση παρεμβάσεων για τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη λιμένων στην Κύπρο, αρχής γενομένης από το λιμάνι και τη μαρίνα της Λάρνακας.
Το Υπερταμείο έχει την αρμοδιότητα για την ανάπτυξη, αναβάθμιση και τον εκσυγχρονισμό των ελληνικών λιμένων που περιλαμβάνονται στο χαρτοφυλάκιό του. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, είναι υπεύθυνο για την εκπόνηση αναπτυξιακών προγραμμάτων (Master Plans) και τον συντονισμό των απαιτούμενων διαδικασιών αδειοδότησης των λιμενικών υποδομών. Παράλληλα, το Υπερταμείο έχει αναλάβει την προώθηση αντίστοιχων διαδικασιών και σε λιμένες εκτός του χαρτοφυλακίου του, συμβάλλοντας στη διαμόρφωση μιας ενιαίας και ολοκληρωμένης στρατηγικής για την ανάπτυξη του ελληνικού λιμενικού συστήματος.
Στο πλαίσιο της συμφωνίας, το Υπερταμείο και το Υπουργείο Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας θα συνεργαστούν στενά κατά το προσεχές διάστημα με απώτερο στόχο την ανάπτυξη, την αναβάθμιση και τον εκσυγχρονισμό των κυπριακών λιμένων. Το Υπερταμείο θα αναλάβει πιλοτικά, για λογαριασμό του ΥΜΕΕ, τη μελέτη για την ανάπτυξη του λιμένα και της μαρίνας Λάρνακας υποβάλλοντας προτάσεις για τη βέλτιστη ανάπτυξη αυτής της υποδομής στρατηγικής σημασίας.Η Γενική Διευθύντρια του Υπουργείου Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, Δρ. Μαρίνα Ιωάννου Χασάπη, τόνισε για τη σημασία της συμφωνίας: «Η σημερινή συμφωνία με το Υπερταμείο αποτελεί ένα ουσιαστικό βήμα για τη διαμόρφωση μιας σύγχρονης και ολοκληρωμένης προσέγγισης στην ανάπτυξη των λιμενικών υποδομών της χώρας μας. Μέσα από αυτή τη συνεργασία, αξιοποιούμε την τεχνογνωσία ενός έμπειρου φορέα, με στόχο τον βέλτιστο σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση έργων με αναπτυξιακή προοπτική. Η Λάρνακα, ως λιμένας στρατηγικής σημασίας, θα καταστεί πρότυπο σύγχρονης, λειτουργικής και βιώσιμης λιμενικής ανάπτυξης, με ουσιαστικά οφέλη για την τοπική κοινωνία και την οικονομία».
Ο Αναπληρωτής Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Υπερταμείου, Παναγιώτης Σταμπουλίδης, επισήμανε τα εξής: «Η υπογραφή της συμφωνίας με το Υπουργείο Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας σηματοδοτεί την έναρξη μιας στρατηγικής συνεργασίας, με στόχο την ανταλλαγή τεχνογνωσίας για τη βέλτιστη αξιοποίηση των λιμενικών υποδομών στην Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο. Με κοινό όραμα και συντονισμένο βηματισμό, δεσμευόμαστε να συνεργαστούμε στενά για την προώθηση της Γαλάζιας Οικονομίας στη Νοτιοανατολική Μεσόγειο και την ενίσχυση της περιφερειακής ανάπτυξης, με πολλαπλά οφέλη για τις τοπικές κοινωνίες. Το Υπερταμείο, ως Αρχή Σχεδιασμού Λιμένων , θα συνεχίσει να διαδραματίζει καταλυτικό ρόλο στη διαμόρφωση ενός βιώσιμου αναπτυξιακού μοντέλου για τα λιμάνια της χώρας. Είναι άλλωστε ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό ότι το 50% του τιμήματος που καταβάλλεται από τις συμβάσεις αξιοποίησης για τους Οργανισμούς λιμένων επενδύεται για την ανάπτυξη των λιμενικών υποδομών υπό κρατικό έλεγχο, ενισχύοντας την ανταγωνιστικότητά τους και δημιουργώντας νέες θέσεις εργασίας προς όφελος της εθνικής οικονομίας».

ΟΛΠ Α.Ε.: Υπογραφή Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας (MoU) με το Λιμάνι της Γκουανγκτζόου
Η ΟΛΠ Α.Ε., σε ειδική τελετή που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις εγκαταστάσεις της, υπέγραψε Σύμφωνο Συνεργασίας με ένα από τα 10 μεγαλύτερα εμπορικά λιμάνια του κόσμου, το λιμάνι της Γκουανγκτζόου στην Κίνα. To Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας υπεγράφη από τον Αναπληρωτή Διευθύνων Σύμβουλο της ΟΛΠ Α.Ε. κ. Παναγιώτη Τσώνη και τον Deputy General Manager του Guangzhou Port Group κ. Song Xiaoming.
Με το εν λόγω Μνημόνιο οι αρμόδιοι φορείς λειτουργίας και διαχείρισης των δύο λιμανιών συμφώνησαν να ενισχύσουν τη μεταξύ τους συνεργασία καθιερώνοντας μια μακροπρόθεσμη εταιρική σχέση, η οποία προσβλέπει στις προκλήσεις και ευκαιρίες του παρόντος και κυρίως του μέλλοντος. Επιπλέον, τα δύο μέρη συμφώνησαν να εντείνουν τις από κοινού προσπάθειες για υλοποίηση επενδύσεων που αφορούν στον μετασχηματισμό και την εξέλιξή τους σε πράσινα λιμάνια, ερευνώντας νέες λύσεις χαμηλών εκπομπών άνθρακα και μείωσης αυτών. Τέλος, οι δύο πλευρές θα συνεργαστούν εντατικά στον τομέα της ψηφιοποίησης και της αυτοματοποίησης των λιμένων, δεσμευόμενες τη μεταξύ τους συνεχή ανταλλαγή τεχνογνωσίας και νέων τεχνολογιών.
Ο Πρόεδρος της ΟΛΠ Α.Ε., Yu Zenggang, εξέφρασε τη μεγάλη του χαρά και ικανοποίηση για την υπογραφή του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας λιμένων Πειραιά και Γκουανγκτζόου, τονίζοντας ότι για την ΟΛΠ Α.Ε. η συνεργασία των λιμανιών, η οποία αποσκοπεί στην αντιμετώπιση παγκόσμιων προκλήσεων, όπως η κλιματική αλλαγή, αλλά και στη συνεχή εξέλιξη, πρόοδο, στον εκσυγχρονισμό και στην τεχνολογική αναβάθμιση των λιμένων με την ανταλλαγή γνώσης, εμπειριών και κυρίως τεχνολογιών αιχμής αποτελεί προτεραιότητα και βασικό εργαλείο διοίκησης και λήψης αποφάσεων στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά.
Στην τελετή υπογραφής του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας παρευρέθηκαν oι Δήμαρχοι Πειραιά και Γκουανγκτζόου κ.κ. Γιάννης Μώραλης και Sun Zhiyang, καθώς και ο Εξοχότατος Πρέσβης της Κίνας στην Ελληνική Δημοκρατία, κ.Xiao Junzheng.

ΑΑΔΕ: Επικαιροποιημένο MoU με Airbnb, Booking.com και Expedia Group/VRBO
Eπικαιροποιημένο Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας υπέγραψε η ΑΑΔΕ με τις δημοφιλείς πλατφόρμες Βραχυχρόνιας Μίσθωσης Airbnb, Booking.com και Expedia Group/VRBO.
Συμφωνήθηκαν αλλαγές που οδηγούν στην ποιοτική και ποσοτική αναβάθμιση των δεδομένων που ανταλλάσσονται με στόχο την αποτελεσματικότερη διαχείρισή τους από την ΑΑΔΕ, προκειμένου να διασφαλίζεται πλήρως η ταυτοποίηση των διαχειριστών των καταλυμάτων για σκοπούς συμμόρφωσης και ελέγχου.
Με την νέα συμφωνία, οι ψηφιακές πλατφόρμες πλέον:
-Εισάγουν συντακτικούς ελέγχους στο πεδίο όπου αναγράφονται οι αριθμοί μητρώου των ακινήτων (ΑΜΑ/ ΕΣΛ/ ΜΑΓ), προς αποφυγή λαθών και καταστρατηγήσεων από τους διαχειριστές.-Αποστέλλουν επιπλέον το όνομα και το επίθετο του κατόχου λογαριασμού IBAN για την ταυτοποίηση και τον έλεγχο των διαχειριστών.-Συμπεριλαμβάνουν το σύνολο των ετησίων ενοικιάσεων (διανυκτερεύσεων) της κάθε καταχώρησης.-Επιστρέφουν στην ΑΑΔΕ, σε μορφή αρχείου, τους διαχειριστές που δεν συμμορφώθηκαν ενώ έχουν ήδη λάβει ειδοποιήσεις για να συμπληρώσουν ή να διορθώσουν τον αριθμό του ακινήτου τους.-Ανταλλάσσουν υποχρεωτικά τα δεδομένα σε συγκεκριμένη μορφή αρχείου, γεγονός που διευκολύνει και επιταχύνει τη διαδικασία.Επιπρόσθετα η πρακτική της κατηγοριοποίησης των καταχωρήσεων σε βραχυχρόνιες μισθώσεις και μη, σύμφωνα με το εμπορικό τους μοντέλο, επεκτείνεται σε όλες τις πλατφόρμες.
Ο Διοικητής της ΑΑΔΕ, Γιώργος Πιτσιλής, δήλωσε: «Επιδιώκουμε διαρκώς λύσεις συνεργασίας με φορείς της αγοράς που μπορούν να συνδράμουν στη μάχη κατά της φοροδιαφυγής. Με την υπογραφή των επικαιροποιημένων μνημονίων συνεργασίας με τις τρεις μεγάλες πλατφόρμες, ενισχύουμε ακόμα περισσότερο την αποτελεσματικότητα αυτής της πολιτικής μας, που έχει αποτελέσει σημείο αναφοράς διεθνώς και έχει οδηγήσει στο δεκαπλασιασμό των εισοδημάτων που δηλώνονται από τις βραχυχρόνιες μισθώσεις».
Από την πλευρά της Airbnb, η Επικεφαλής Δημόσιας Πολιτικής & Campaign για τη Νότια Ευρώπη, Valentina Reino, σημείωσε ότι αυτό το Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας με την ΑΑΔΕ έχει αποδειχθεί παράδειγμα καλής πρακτικής σε όλη την Ευρώπη καθώς θέτει ένα σαφές πλαίσιο για τις υποχρεώσεις των ιδιοκτητών ακινήτων, ενισχύοντας τη διαφάνεια και υποστηρίζοντας ίσους όρους ανταγωνισμού για όλες τις πλατφόρμες. «Στην Airbnb είμαστε πολύ χαρούμενοι που συνεχίζουμε την επιτυχημένη συνεργασία μας με την ΑΑΔΕ, η οποία επιτρέπει στις ελληνικές οικογένειες να υποστηρίζουν σημαντικά τον υπεύθυνο τουρισμό. Δεσμευόμαστε να συνεχίσουμε αυτή τη συνεργασία με την ελληνική κυβέρνηση και τις αρχές, στο μέλλον, για να διασφαλίσουμε την ομαλή και αποτελεσματική λειτουργία των βραχυχρόνιων μισθώσεων στη χώρα».
Στο ίδιο πλαίσιο, εκ μέρους της VRBO, της επωνυμίας ενοικίασης κατοικιών διακοπών του Expedia Group, ο Iban Rabasa, Ανώτερος Διευθυντής Κυβερνητικών Υποθέσεων, υπογράμμισε πώς το Μνημόνιο είναι μια σημαντική πρωτοβουλία δημόσιου και ιδιωτικού τομέα. «Το μνημόνιο εγγυάται τη διαφάνεια στον τομέα των βραχυπρόθεσμων μισθώσεων και επιτρέπει στους ιδιοκτήτες και τους διαχειριστές ακινήτων να πραγματοποιούν τη δραστηριότητά τους σύμφωνα με την ελληνική νομοθεσία». Επιτρέπει στους χρήστες να επωφεληθούν πλήρως από την ανάκαμψη της τουριστικής και ταξιδιωτικής βιομηχανίας, ενώ παράλληλα συνεργάζεται με το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο για να εκτιμήσει τη συμβολή των ενοικιαζόμενων κατοικιών διακοπών στην ελληνική οικονομία. Πρόσθεσε επίσης «ανυπομονούμε να συνεχίσουμε να συνεργαζόμαστε στενά με όλους τους ενδιαφερόμενους φορείς για να προωθήσουμε τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη στον κλάδο και να εξασφαλίσουμε ένα κατάλληλο ρυθμιστικό πλαίσιο για τις βραχυχρόνιες».
Τέλος, εκ μέρους της Booking.com, η Katerina Shearer, Ανώτερη Διευθύντρια Δημοσίων Σχέσεων, υπογράμμισε ότι η Booking.com είναι πολύ ικανοποιημένη με την παραγωγική συνεργασία με την Αρχή και την ανανέωση της συμφωνίας που συνεχίζει να παρέχει σαφήνεια και διαφάνεια στον τομέα των βραχυχρόνιων μισθώσεων στην Ελλάδα.
Επισήμανε ότι η ελληνική κυβέρνηση είναι ένα βήμα μπροστά από την ΕΕ με αυτή τη σαφή, επιβλητή νομοθεσία, που βασίζεται σε ένα εθνικό σύστημα εγγραφής σε συνδυασμό με σαφείς και βελτιστοποιημένες απαιτήσεις κοινής χρήσης δεδομένων, που είναι ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να διασφαλιστεί ότι όλοι λειτουργούν με το ίδιο σύνολο κανόνων, διασφαλίζοντας έτσι ένα θετικό αποτέλεσμα για τους ταξιδιώτες, τους ιδιοκτήτες κατοικιών και τις τοπικές οικονομίες. Σημείωσε, κλείνοντας, ότι η Booking.com βλέπει τα ταξίδια ως δύναμη για το καλό και ότι οι διαδικτυακές, ταξιδιωτικές πλατφόρμες έχουν να διαδραματίσουν κρίσιμο ρόλο, βοηθώντας τον τουριστικό τομέα να κάνει τη δίδυμη μετάβαση προς ένα πιο πράσινο, πιο ψηφιακό και πιο ανθεκτικό μέλλον σε έναν μετά Covid κόσμο.
CACEIS and Royal Bank of Canada sign a MoU on the proposed acquisition of RBC Investor Services operations in Europe
CACEIS, the asset servicing banking group of Crédit Agricole S.A. and Santander, and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a view for CACEIS to acquire the European asset servicing activities of RBC Investor Services and its associated Malaysian centre of excellence. This would include custody, global custody FX, fund administration, transfer agency, middle office and securities lending.
RBC Investor Services is a leading provider of asset services and holds Assets under Administration (AuA) in Europe of around €1.2 trillion and Assets under Custody (AuC) in Europe of around €0.5 trillion. Together, the combined entity of RBC Investor Services and CACEIS would have around €4.8 trillion in AuC and €3.5 trillion in AuA (all figures as at 31/03/2022).
The transaction would combine two strong asset servicers in Europe and would strengthen CACEIS’ position as a global leader in asset servicing with access to a broader and complementary client base and service offering.
The integration of the RBC Investor Services business into CACEIS would deliver scale and stronger competitive positioning as CACEIS would benefit from a larger geographical presence, full coverage of the value chain and an expanded offering for both existing and new clients.
The execution of the final agreements between CACEIS and RBC requires prior consultation with the relevant works councils of CACEIS.
The completion of the contemplated transaction will be subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory and antitrust approvals, and is expected to take place by the end of the third quarter of the 2023 calendar year.

This transaction will have a de minimus impact to RBC’s common equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio and earning per share (EPS). The proposed transaction excludes RBC Investor Services’ Canadian operations.
Saudi shipping firm Bahri signs two MoUs with Greek maritime logistics companies
Bahri, formally known as the National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia, has signed two initial agreements with Greek maritime firms Dynacom and SeaTraders.
Both deals are effective for one year, according to a statement.
The agreements will assist the firms’ existing capabilities and establish avenues to transfer technology and services.
“With the signing of these two significant agreements, Bahri has taken yet another major leap toward improving the operational efficiency of our fleet and further establishing our organization both regionally and globally,” CEO of Bahri Ahmed Ali Alsubaie said.
During the Saudi Greek Investment Forum, representatives from governments and the private sector finalized a variety of investment deals, valued at over SR15.2 billion ($4 billion).
This comes as both countries seek to further bolster commercial relationships.

Swiss Re GBS India signs MoU with IIRM to enhance capability building programs in India’s insurance industry
Swiss Re signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM), an organisation dedicated to providing executive education across the financial services sector. The partnership is aimed at catalysing synergies to strengthen re/insurance academia in India.
Swiss Re Global Business Solutions India will collaborate closely with IIRM on its Post Graduate Degree in Management, offering short modules, conducting lectures on re/insurance topics, and creating opportunities for IIRM students through internships and job placements.
Amit Kalra, Swiss Re’s Head GBS Centres India said: “Swiss Re is committed to the growth and development of India’s insurance sector. This collaboration will be a building block towards structuring and elevating capabilities across the entire insurance value chain. Together with IIRM, we will work to equip the industry with upskilled professionals, who play an important role in building India’s resilience and narrowing the nation’s insurance protection gap.”
Together, Swiss Re and IIRM will undertake industry research to improve overall knowledge on the insurance ecosystem. Through the partnership, both organisations will explore the possibility of Swiss Re becoming a representitative member on IIRM’s advisory panel and Academic Governing Council.

DNV signs MOU with Saronic Ferries on development of electric ferry concept in Greece
At the Posidonia 2022 trade fair, classification society DNV signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saronic Ferries designed to enable the development of an electric ferry for local deployment in Greece. The collaboration is targeted towards a fully electric concept for deployment on short sea passenger routes in the Argosaronikos area.
The use of all-electric or hybrid vessels in the short sea ferry segment has surged in recent years as the benefits of the technology has been demonstrated in pilots and full-scale deployments. For ferries on fixed routes in particular, electric technology offers significant benefits – eliminating onboard emissions to air, reducing noise and vibration, and providing compliance with increasingly strict regulations in operation and in ports.
“We operate the largest fleet in the Saronic islands which are located only a few miles away from the port of Piraeus, the largest port of Greece, where decarbonization will matter most,” said Joseph Lefakis, partner of Saronic Ferries. “Our goal is to partner with forward-thinking stakeholders, such as DNV and materialize the first fully-electric ferry in Greece, for the Saronic islands.”

DNV has been a “first mover” on batteries, establishing the first industry rules for battery propulsion, and working with many customers to enable efficient and successful transitions to electric propulsion. DNV has continued to develop a network of experts in Norway and around the world with extensive experience in batteries, battery control systems, which can be drawn on for the local market through the Piraeus office. In addition, as the initiator and lead of the Norwegian Green Shipping Programme, DNV has been working for many years on bringing together maritime stakeholders to escalate the deployment of green vessels, most notably the country’s fleet of short sea ferries.
Greece also has a great deal of potential to power electric ferries with renewable energy. The available resource in terms of offshore wind and solar power, both fixed and floating, is significant. Combining these offers the possibility of developing a new “Greek green corridor”, resulting not only in fleet decarbonization but creating local expertise and new business opportunities.

HEMEXPO signs MOU with SEKPY at Posidonia 2022
Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers and Exports – a leading suppliers and exporters association for the international shipping sector signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation (MoU) with SEKPY – Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material Association – on Tuesday 7 June at the Posidonia Conference and Exhibition in Athens.
The MoU expresses the wish of both organisations to establish greater synergies between the Greek shipping and defence industries, and provides a framework for cooperation in areas of common interest. The two associations aim to strengthen their respective positions in international markets.
With job creation one of the primary objectives set for the new cooperative relationship, HEMEXPO and SEKPY also aim to:
– Increase the turnover and exports of marine and defence equipment manufacturers;- Increase research and technological development, including cross-sector and international collaborations to promote and develop innovative products and services;- Increase product certifications to meet required specifications;- Contribute to the creation of innovative industrial activity for marine equipment within the international market.
