Management Changes at HDI Global Mexico

HDI Global SE is pleased to announce management changes at its operations in Mexico. Effective 4 April 2022, Omar Mendoza Lizaola will join HDI Global Mexico as Managing Director. At the same time, German Cardenas will assume the role of Executive Operations Director.

 

Omar Mendoza has 24 years of expertise in the local commercial insurance industry. He joins HDI Global from his long career at Chubb (former ACE) where he was in charge of Marine and Specialty business in North LATAM. From 2016 until 2020 he was Director of the same lines of business at Chubb in Brazil.  His proven strengths are in portfolio development and optimization combined with a collaborative management approach. Omar holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Business Administration.

German Cardenas joined the HDI Group more than 25 years ago and has transformed HDI Global Mexico from its humble beginnings into a successful hub for HDI’s business in the LATAM region and into a profitable local carrier.

Both management changes are subject to the approval of the responsible regulatory authorities.

Personnel changes in the management of the HDI Global Branch France

With effect from 31 March 2022, and on the best of mutual terms, Managing Director Florence Louppe leaves the HDI Global SE Branch France at her own request in order to take up new career challenges. Etienne de Varax will take over temporary management of the branch. The Management Board is working on a succession plan.

 

Etienne de Varax takes over temporary management at the branch

The company would like to thank Florence Louppe for her successful work over the past years and wishes her every success in her future career and all the best in her private life.
Etienne de Varax (photo), who is already a member of the local management team, takes over temporary management of the branch, subject to the approval of the responsible regulatory authorities. He will take up his new function on 1 April 2022 until further notice. Over the past 21 years, de Varax (65) has played a major role in various positions guiding the successful business development of HDI in France. He is currently Director ART/ Legal / Tax / Compliance & Claims at the branch. Prior to his time at HDI Global, Etienne de Varax worked at AON, the GAN Group and AIG in various functions.

7th International Symposium on Ship Operations, Management, and Economics Concluded Successfully

Pivoted into a virtual event, the 7th international Symposium on Ship Operations, Management, and Economics scheduled to take place on 6 & 7 April 2021 was successfully concluded.
During the 2-day program 2 inspiring keynote speeches and 16 presentations on the topics of Design & Fabrication, Digitalization, Computers & Shipping, Operations & Emissions, and Legal, Financial & Regulatory Aspects were given.
The Symposium was honored by the presence of SNAME President, Andrew M. Kendrick, who set the tone of the Symposium at the Opening Session and 2 exquisite keynote speakers, Dr. Arlie G. Sterling, President and Co-Founder of Marsoft Inc., and Dr. German Weisser, Senior Advisor at Winterthur Gas & Diesel.
The live Q&A sessions, which followed each of the pre-recorded sessions, enhanced participants’ understanding and created space for lively interaction.
