Kinner Lakhani joins Credit Suisse as Head of Group Strategy & Development

Credit Suisse is pleased to announce that Kinner Lakhani will join the bank as Head of Group Strategy & Development. In this role, Kinner will be based in Zurich and will report into Tidjane Thiam, Chief Executive Officer.
Kinner brings with him considerable experience across wealth and asset management, investment banking and the wider financial sector, and is among the most respected voices in the industry. He will work closely with our divisions and corporate functions as we drive incremental growth, assess opportunities to further expand our leading global footprint and continue to deliver an integrated approach to client coverage.
Kinner joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was Head of European Company Research & Advisory, as well as Head of European Financials Research, having joined the bank from Citigroup in 2015, where he was co-Head of the European Banks Research team. He has covered the banking sector for more than two decades, with previous roles at ABN Amro and Morgan Stanley. Kinner has been consistently top rated by investors, achieving number one European banks analyst in the Institutional Investor survey in 2018 and previously featuring amongst the top twenty Bloomberg Global Champion Stockpickers.
Kinner has written extensively on the future of the asset management, investment banking and the banking industry. Over the past four years, in partnership with a leading global consultancy, he has published thought-provoking thematic reports on the trends and outlook for the global wealth management industry, including most recently Out of the pit stop – into the fast lane. Kinner has also served on the European Central Bank’s Macro-prudential Policies and Financial Stability Contact Group, a forum for debating issues related to euro area stability and macro-prudential policy.
Kinner is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and studied BSc Actuarial Science (First Class Honours) at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Deutsche Bank reorganises Treasury and appoints François Jourdain as Head of Treasury Markets and Investments

Deutsche Bank announced a reorganisation of its Treasury function, with the combination of market-facing and investment activities into an integrated Treasury Markets and Investments team. François Jourdain will join the bank as Head of Treasury Markets and Investments, reporting to Dixit Joshi, Group Treasurer.
Mr. Jourdain was formerly at Barclays Bank where he served on the Executive Committee of Barclays International. He held senior posts in Treasury, including Deputy Treasurer and Head of Treasury Funding and Investment. He also served as Chief Compliance Officer for Barclays International. Mr. Jourdain was most recently Chair of the Bank of England Risk Free Rate Benchmark Working Group.

Starr Insurance Companies Appoints Andrew Hopper as Head of Financial Institutions, UK and Europe

Starr Insurance Companies announced the appointment of Andrew Hopper as Head of Financial Institutions for the UK and Europe. Hopper joined Starr on June 3 and will be responsible for the strategy and profitable growth of the Financial Institutions division.
Prior to Starr, Hopper was a senior client executive within the FinPro Practice at Marsh in London.
“Andrew brings more than 17 years of financial industry insurance experience on both the broker and carrier sides of the business,” said Liz Ilott, chief underwriting officer, Financial Lines, Starr Underwriting Agents Ltd (SUAL). “He’s developed smart risk management solutions for large financial institutions throughout his career, including banks, asset managers, and life insurance companies, with a solid track record of driving revenue growth for his employers. His leadership will help us to develop new channels and strengthen our client and partner relationships.”
Andrew will report directly to Liz Ilott and will be based in Starr’s London office.
Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking appoints new UK Head of Global Finance

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) announces the appointment of Demetrio Salorio as UK Head of Global Finance. Demetrio Salorio will replace Alvaro Huete in this role, which Alvaro currently holds in addition to his position as Deputy Head of Global Finance. Demetrio’s appointment is effective 15 May 2019.Based in London, Demetrio Salorio will report to Sadia Ricke, UK Chief Country Officer and Alvaro Huete. Demetrio’s replacement as Global Head of Debt Capital Markets will be announced in due course.In his new role, Demetrio Salorio will directly supervise all the Global Finance activities in the UK. He will be responsible for defining and implementing the UK Global Finance strategy in the country, in line with the Bank’s global ambition to meet its clients’ needs with complete solutions from debt capital raising to structured financing.Alvaro will retain his Senior Management Function (SMF) responsibilities for Global Finance, excluding Natural Resources & Infrastructure Finance, until Demetrio is confirmed as SMF for Global Finance in the UK, which will be subject to regulatory approval. SMF responsibilities for Natural Resources & Infrastructure Finance will continue to remain with Dominique Beretti, Deputy Global Head of Natural Resources & Infrastructure Financing Group.
Biography:Demetrio Salorio will become UK Head of Global Finance in 15 May 2019.Since 2010, he has been Global Head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM). He was promoted Global Co-Head of DCM in 2008 and was Deputy Head of DCM since 2007. In 2004, he was appointed Head of DCM Financial Origination. Demetrio began his career at Societe Generale in Madrid in 1991 where he held different positions within Debt Capital Markets and Global Finance activities in Spain.He holds an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.
