Glyfada Greek Maritime Golf Event returns dynamically, continuing its successful progress as a top tournament that brings together the maritime industry and the world of golf. This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the historic Glyfada Golf Course “K. Karamanlis”, offering a unique experience of sport, corporate networking, and social engagement within a stunning natural landscape.
The tournament has established itself as a premier annual institution for the Greek and international maritime community, gathering top executives, industry professionals, golf enthusiasts, and supporters of the sport. The Glyfada Golf Course, built to international standards, is set in lush greenery with gentle hills, Mediterranean vegetation, and scenic views, making it a landmark of athleticism, culture, and leisure.
The 18-hole, par-72 course combines technical challenge with aesthetic excellence, making it ideal for both seasoned golfers and newcomers. The course’s distinctive terrain and natural surroundings offer a balanced and enjoyable playing experience in every round.
Tournament Schedule
On Friday, September 5, 2025, participants will start the day with registration. The main event will feature a Scramble format tournament, delivering an exciting golf experience on one of Greece’s most iconic courses. The schedule will also include a Golf Clinic for non-golfers, giving attendees the opportunity to learn or improve their technique in the thrilling Olympic sport of golf.
The day will conclude with the awards ceremony, held in the elegant outdoor space of Colonial, the all-day restaurant of the Papatheoharis Group at Golf Prive Glyfada, offering breathtaking views of the course.
Tournament Format
The event will be played in a Scramble 4-ball, 2 better ball format. Players select the best driver and then each completes the hole with their own ball. Teams consist of four players, and the two best individual scores on each hole count toward the team score. Each player’s Playing Handicap will be calculated at ¾, in line with international golf rules. The Scramble format ensures a dynamic and enjoyable pace of play, ideal for both experienced golfers and beginners. The event doesn’t require professional playing but promotes teamwork, strategy, and the joy of the game.

The top golf tournament for the maritime community, Greek Maritime Golf Event, returns for its 10th anniversary, renewing its annual meeting with the Greek and global maritime industry, on September 5-8, 2024, at Costa Navarino, in Messinia.

Greek Maritime Golf Event celebrates its 10 years in the best way possible, as it was once again distinguished at the Sports Marketing Awards 2024, as the best golf event in Greece. Specifically, the tournament received a total of 4 awards, 1 Gold award in the “Corporate Sports Event” category, 1 Silver in the “Individual Sports and Golf” category, as well as 1 Silver and 1 Bronze for its successful sponsorship collaborations with Miele Hellas at the golf courses of Costa Navarino and Glyfada.

Competition at Navarino Hills
Greek Maritime Golf Event will once again bring together more than 80 top executives from the maritime industry who will form teams of four. Golfers will have the opportunity to compete at the Costa Navarino golf courses, in a destination ranked in the Top 10 of the “Top 100 World Resorts” list and awarded as the “World’s Best Golf Venue” at the World Golf Awards 2023. The rounds will take place on the two signature 18-hole courses, designed by two-time Masters champion and Ryder Cup legend, José María Olazábal, at Navarino Hills, in an idyllic landscape with centuries-old olive trees and stunning views of the Ionian Sea, the historic Navarino Bay, and the picturesque port of Pylos.

The golf rounds
Participants will compete on a team level on Friday, September 6, in a shotgun scramble competition at the International Olympic Academy Golf Course. Similarly, on Saturday, September 7, they will take part in a shotgun scramble competition at The Hills Course.
Awards for the top teams & players
Teams will claim the top three positions in the overall standings, while there will also be special awards for players who achieve the best performances in the “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” categories.

Γκολφ και Ναυτιλία έλαμψαν για 9η χρονιά στο κορυφαίο Greek Maritime Golf Event
Ο κορυφαίος θεσμός του γκολφ και της ναυτιλίας, το Greek Maritime Golf Event, που έχει αναδειχθεί τα τελευταία χρόνια ως καλύτερη διοργάνωση γκολφ σε Ελλάδα και Κύπρο, επέστρεψε στις 7-10 Σεπτεμβρίου 2023, στο Costa Navarino, στη Μεσσηνία, για να συγκεντρώσει και πάλι κορυφαία στελέχη της παγκόσμιας και ελληνικής ναυτιλίας.
Δύο ημέρες γεμάτες γκολφ
Για 9η χρονιά το Greek Maritime Golf Event χάρισε μοναδικές στιγμές και εμπειρίες στα δύο signature γήπεδα 18 οπών The Dunes Course και The Bay Course, σε ένα ειδυλλιακό τοπίο με ελαιόδεντρα εκατοντάδων ετών με εκπληκτική θέα στο Ιόνιο πέλαγος, στον ιστορικό κόλπο του Ναυαρίνου και στην πανέμορφη Πύλο.
Με σύμμαχο τον εκπληκτικό καιρό, την Παρασκευή 8 Σεπτεμβρίου, οι συμμετέχοντες έλαβαν μέρος σε έναν αγώνα shotgun scramble στο The Bay Course, ενώ το Σάββατο 9 Σεπτεμβρίου, η γκολφική δράση μεταφέρθηκε στο The Dunes Course για έναν ακόμα αγώνα shotgun scramble.
Η διοργάνωση φρόντισε και για τους non-golfers που είχαν την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουν το Golf Clinic και να μάθουν τις βασικές αρχές του Ολυμπιακού αθλήματος στο The Dunes Course.
Όλοι μαζί για έναν καλό σκοπό
To Greek Maritime Golf Event είναι ένα τουρνουά με σπουδαίο κοινωνικό έργο κάθε χρόνο. Φέτος, η κορυφαία διοργάνωση γκολφ εστίασε τις δράσεις της στην ενίσχυση του έργου που επιτελεί ο Σύλλογος Γονιών Παιδιών με Νεοπλασματική Ασθένεια «Η Φλόγα». Πιο συγκεκριμένα, κατά τη διάρκεια της βραδιάς απονομής των φετινών βραβείων στους νικητές, το Σάββατο 9 Σεπτεμβρίου, οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να συνεισφέρουν το ποσό που επιθυμούσαν, απευθείας στη Φλόγα, αγοράζοντας λαχνούς και λαμβάνοντας μέρος σε κληρώσεις για πλούσια δώρα της λαχειοφόρου αγοράς του τουρνουά. Το ποσό που συλλέχθηκε συνολικά διατέθηκε στη Φλόγα, η οποία συμπαραστέκεται στα παιδιά που νοσούν από καρκίνο και τις οικογένειές τους, αγωνίζεται για την καλύτερη ιατρική, ψυχική και κοινωνική φροντίδα τους, μοιράζεται τους φόβους και τις αγωνίες τους, στηρίζει με κάθε τρόπο τον αγώνα τους και διεκδικεί ουσιαστική παρουσία και δυνατότητα παρέμβασης στα θέματα της ιατρικής, ψυχικής και κοινωνικής φροντίδας αυτών των παιδιών. Την Παρασκευή 8 Σεπτεμβρίου η διοργάνωση υποδέχτηκε τους συμμετέχοντες στο Welcome Cocktail by Marine Tours, υπό τους lounge ήχους του σαξοφώνου. Τον κόσμο καλωσόρισε ο κ. Κωνσταντίνος Οικονόμου, Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Ομίλου Marine Tours, του κορυφαίου ταξιδιωτικού οργανισμού στην Ν.Α. Ευρώπη, με μακρά παράδοση στην κάλυψη των επαγγελματικών ταξιδιωτικών αναγκών της ναυτιλιακής κοινότητας (Marine & Offshore Travel). Η εταιρεία Marine Tours στηρίζει παραδοσιακά την διοργάνωση και αγκαλιάζει κάθε χρόνο τις δράσεις της, αλλά και τον φιλανθρωπικό της σκοπό.

Η ομάδα παραγωγής του Greek Maritime Golf Event φρόντισε για την παροχή μιας πλούσιας εμπειρίας γκολφ καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια του τουρνουά. Η ειδικά καταρτισμένη ομάδα της Miele Hellas, ήταν παρούσα στα γήπεδα προσφέροντας φρέσκο αλεσμένο καφέ, από κόκκους δικής της παραγωγής και καφετιέρες με δυνατότητα αναγνώρισης χρήστη, για το καλύτερο αποτέλεσμα, καθώς επίσης, γευστικές δημιουργίες όπως πίτσες, τοστ γερμανικού τύπου με σύγκλινο Μάνης και σφέλα Μεσσηνίας, τυροπιτάκια και κοτόπιτες με χειροποίητο φύλλο, με την υπογραφή του Miele Chef της. Παράλληλα, όλοι οι συμμετέχοντες ξεκινούσαν το πρωινό τους με ένα starting kit που περιείχε ξηρούς καρπούς, αποξηραμένα φρούτα, κριτσίνια και παστέλι από τη Miele όπως επίσης, μοναδικές μπάρες δημητριακών χωρίς ζάχαρη του Daily Deli. Όλοι οι παίκτες απόλαυσαν στους σταθμούς τροφοδοσίας, την αυθεντική ελληνική κουζίνα με μοναδικά σουβλάκια από ελληνικά κρέατα και φρέσκα φρούτα από τη Μεσσηνία από το Εστιατόριο Ποσειδωνία, εκλεκτά προϊόντα όπως γαλοπούλα και αυθεντικό παστουρμά Μιράν, ενυδατώθηκαν με το Minoa Water, το πρώτο ελληνικό νερό που συσκευάζεται σε χάρτινη ανακυκλώσιμη συσκευασία φιλικό προς το περιβάλλον, ήπιαν τα έτοιμα δροσιστικά cocktail Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic και τη μοναδική μεσσηνιακή μπύρα NEMA Beer και δοκίμασαν τον μεσσηνιακό χυμό από φυσικά συστατικά Άθη Ρόδι. Οι γκολφέρ χρησιμοποίησαν για την προστασία τους τα πλούσια σε φυσικά συστατικά Messinian Spa αντηλιακά, που έχουν ως βάση το ελαιόλαδο Καλαμάτας και είχαν την ευκαιρία να δοκιμάσουν την εξαιρετική συλλογή των πούρων Habanos στο cigar station που είχε στηθεί. Τέλος, η Miele χορήγησε με ένα δώρο μεγάλης αξίας το Hole-In-One βραβείο της διοργάνωσης.
Στο πλαίσιο του φετινού event, ο αναγνωρισμένος Έλληνας PGA golfer και διοργανωτής του Greek Maritime Golf Event, κ. Θάνος Καραντζιάς δήλωσε μεταξύ άλλων: «Είναι μεγάλη μου χαρά και τιμή να βλέπω τη ναυτιλιακή κοινότητα να μεγαλώνει κάθε χρόνο, να βρίσκεται συνέχεια δίπλα μας όλα αυτά τα εννέα χρόνια και να συνεχίζει να στηρίζει τις δράσεις και το έργο μας. Μας δίνει δύναμη για να συνεχίσουμε και να πάμε ακόμα ψηλότερα τον κορυφαίο αυτό θεσμό. Οι παίκτες έδειξαν για ακόμα μία χρονιά τον ενθουσιασμό τους μέσα από το γκολφ, έζησαν μοναδικές στιγμές στα γήπεδα της Costa Navarino και συνέβαλαν έμπρακτα στο σημαντικό κοινωνικό έργο που επιτελεί ‘Η Φλόγα’. Στην κατηγορία των ομάδων, νικήτρια αναδείχθηκε η ομάδα των Heard, Παπαδοπούλου, John Gallagher. Τη βράβευση της πρώτης ομάδας πραγματοποίησε ο κ. Θεόφιλος Ξενακούδης Chief Commercial Officer / Managing Director, Piraeus-Greece της IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry, διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένης για την εξαιρετική εξυπηρέτηση των πελατών της και τον υψηλής ποιότητας στόλο της. Δεύτερη αναδείχθηκε η ομάδα των Οικονόμου, Αγγελάκη, Τζιώτη, Σορώτου ενώ στην τρίτη θέση βρέθηκε η ομάδα των Χιωτόπουλου, Κανελλάκη, Δαλακούρα, Vezlihvtsev. Greek Maritime Golf Event, is organized by Birdie Events, through an initiative of the recognized Greek PGA golfer, Mr. Thanos Karantzias. The award-winning sports marketing agency of ActiveMedia Group has undertaken the event’s Golf Production. The tournament is addressed exclusively to distinguished executives of the Greek shipping community.
The tournament will be held in a completely safe destination, with a health protocol and the necessary approvals of the Health Scientific Committee of the General Secretariat of Sports, taking into account the strict specifications set by the Hellenic Golf Federation.
5th Greek Maritime Golf Event returns from 8-9 June 2019 at Costa Navarino
The top golf tournament for the shipping community “Greek Maritime Golf Event”, following its four successful years and its great appeal in the field of Greek and global shipping industry, returns for the 5th consecutive year at Costa Navarino from 8-9 June 2019.
Golf enthusiasts activated in the Greek shipping industry will have the chance to compete in the two signature 18-hole courses, The Dunes Course and The Bay Course, in a landscape full of centuries-old olive trees with stunning views of the Ionian Sea and the historic Bay of Navarino.
Participants will form teams of four golfers and compete at both team and individual levels in a shotgun scramble that will take place on Saturday, June 8th. Teams participating will claim the prizes for the top three positions in the overall standings; while special awards will be given to individual players who will achieve the best scores in the special categories “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin”.

5th Greek Maritime Golf Event: Eπιστρέφει στις 8-9 Ιουνίου στο Costa Navarino
Το «Greek Maritime Golf Event», το κορυφαίο τουρνουά γκολφ για την ναυτιλιακή κοινότητα, μετά τις τέσσερις συνεχείς επιτυχίες που σημείωσε κατά τα προηγούμενα έτη, καθώς και τη μεγάλη απήχηση που είχε στο χώρο της ελληνικής και παγκόσμιας ναυτιλίας, επιστρέφει για 5η συνεχή χρονιά στo Costa Navarino στις 8-9 Ιουνίου 2019.
Λάτρεις του γκολφ που δραστηριοποιούνται στην ελληνική ναυτιλία θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αγωνιστούν στα δύο signature γήπεδα 18 οπών The Dunes Course και The Bay Course σε ένα τοπίο με ελαιόδεντρα εκατοντάδων ετών με εκπληκτική θέα στο Ιόνιο πέλαγος και στον ιστορικό κόλπο του Ναυαρίνου.
Οι συμμετέχοντες θα σχηματίσουν ομάδες των τεσσάρων ατόμων και θα διαγωνιστούν τόσο σε ομαδικό όσο και σε ατομικό επίπεδο, σε έναν αγώνα shotgun scramble που θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 8 Ιουνίου. Οι ομάδες που θα αγωνιστούν θα διεκδικήσουν διακρίσεις για την κατάκτηση των τριών πρώτων θέσεων στη γενική κατάταξη, ενώ θα υπάρξουν ειδικές βραβεύσεις για τους παίκτες που θα σημειώσουν τις καλύτερες ατομικές επιδόσεις στις ειδικές κατηγορίες “Longest Drive” και “Closest to the Pin”.
