BNP Paribas: Sandro Pierri joins the Executive Committee of the BNP Paribas Group
Sandro Pierri, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM), joins the Executive Committee of the BNP Paribas Group as of 30 March 2026. This appointment confirms the strategic positioning of the newly unified BNPP AM within the integrated model of the Group, combining industrial scale with BNP Paribas’ powerful distribution, insurance and corporate banking capabilities.
As part of its 2030 new strategic plan, BNPP AM will reinforce its close collaboration with CBPS and CIB businesses positioning its activities as a growth engine for the Group.
Sandro Pierri reports to Renaud Dumora, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas, in charge of Investment & Protection Services.

Biography
Sandro Pierri, CEO of BNP Paribas Asset Management since 1st September 2021, is CEO of the new BNP Paribas Asset Management since 31 December 2025.
Sandro Pierri has more than 35 years’ experience in the asset management industry. He joined BNP Paribas Asset Management in 2017 as Head of the Global Client Group, and he was appointed CEO in 2021., successfully implementing BNP Paribas Asset Management’s growth plan and positioning it as a key player offering high added value investment solutions for individual savers, companies, and institutions. Sandro began his career in 1989 as a portfolio manager with San Paolo Fondi, moving to BNL Gestioni in 1992, before joining ING Investment Management in Italy in 1994, where he held several commercial roles. Between 2002 and 2003, he was Chief Executive of ING Group’s Italian retail business. Following the acquisition by UniCredit/Pioneer of ING’s Italian business, he joined Pioneer Investments, UniCredit’s asset management division, in 2004. He spent 10 years in various commercial and managerial positions, including being appointed CEO in 2012. Sandro graduated in Economics from the Università degli Studi di Torino, Italy.
Allianz Ελλάδος – Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη: Ανακοίνωση του νέου Executive Committee της ενοποιημένης εταιρίας
Η Allianz Ελλάδος και η Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη, ανακοίνωσαν το Executive Committee (ExCom), που θα ηγηθεί της κοινής τους πορείας ανάπτυξης, στοχεύοντας σε ένα καλύτερο μέλλον, γεμάτο ευκαιρίες για ασφαλισμένους, εργαζομένους και συνεργάτες. Η νέα σύνθεση υπόκειται στην έγκριση της ρυθμιστικής αρχής και θα έχει ισχύ μετά τη νομική συγχώνευση των δύο εταιριών.
Η σύνθεση του νέου ExCom έγινε με γνώμονα το υψηλό επίπεδο γνώσεων και εμπειρίας των μελών. Πρωταρχικός τους στόχος θα είναι η αποτελεσματική ενοποίηση των δύο εταιριών, θέτοντας ισχυρές βάσεις για την εξέλιξη και ανάπτυξη της κοινής εταιρίας, στοχεύοντας στην κορυφή.
Συγκεκριμένα, η νέα ομάδα αποτελείται από στελέχη του διαθέτουν πολυετή εμπειρία στην ασφαλιστική αγορά, αλλά και από επαγγελματίες που θα φέρουν νέες καινοτόμες ιδέες και πρακτικές μέσα από τη γνώση που διαθέτουν από άλλους επιχειρηματικούς κλάδους, με δέσμευση να λειτουργούν πάντα με σεβασμό στον άνθρωπο και την κοινωνία.
Με βάση τις κοινές αρχές και αξίες των δύο εταιριών, το νέο ExCom χαρακτηρίζεται από ποικιλομορφία, με άτομα από διαφορετικές ηλικιακές ομάδες και σημαντική γυναικεία εκπροσώπηση, σε ποσοστό 37,5%.
Υπό την ηγεσία του Χρήστου Γεωργακόπουλου, το νέο ExCom της ενοποιημένης εταιρίας, θα αποτελέσουν οι κ.κ. (αλφαβητικά):
Στέφανος Βερζοβίτης, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση του Chief Operations Officer. Διαθέτει πάνω από 30 χρόνια εμπειρίας σε διοικητικές θέσεις οικονομικών και πληροφορικής στην ελληνική ασφαλιστική αγορά, ενώ τα τελευταία 22 χρόνια είναι Γενικός Διευθυντής Οικονομικών & Διοικητικών Υπηρεσιών στην Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη.
Ισαβέλλα Βήτου, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση της Chief Strategy and Integration Officer. Διαθέτει 15 χρόνια εμπειρίας στον τομέα των χρηματοοικονομικών υπηρεσιών & συμβούλων διοίκησης, ενώ τον τελευταίο 1,5 χρόνο είναι Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer στην Allianz Ελλάδος.
Χρήστος Γεωργίου, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση τoυ Chief Financial Officer. Διαθέτει 15 χρόνια εμπειρίας στον ασφαλιστικό κλάδο, με πιο πρόσφατο τον ρόλο του CFO της Ευρωπαϊκής Πίστης. Πριν από αυτό και για 5 χρόνια ήταν Επικεφαλής Αναλογιστής και Chief Product Officer στην Allianz Ελλάδος.
Θωμάς Κωνσταντινίδης, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση του Chief Investments Officer. Διαθέτει πάνω από 17 χρόνια εμπειρίας σε διοικητικές θέσεις επενδυτικού ενδιαφέροντος, ενώ από το 2005 είναι CEO της Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη Asset Management Α.Ε.Δ.Α.Κ.
Στέφανος Μαλαχιάς, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση του Chief Commercial Διαθέτει 18 χρόνια εμπειρίας σε θέσεις Πωλήσεων ή Γενικής Διεύθυνσης, ενώ τα τελευταία 5 χρόνια είναι Chief Commercial Officer στην Allianz Ελλάδος.
Εύη Μαρτίνοβιτς, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση της Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. Διαθέτει 15 χρόνια εμπειρίας ως δικηγόρος, ενώ τα τελευταία δύο έτη είναι Chief Legal and Compliance Officer στην Allianz Ελλάδος.
Νίκος Χαλκιόπουλος, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση του Chief Insurance Officer. Διαθέτει 35 χρόνια εμπειρίας στην ελληνική ασφαλιστική αγορά, ενώ τα τελευταία 20 χρόνια είναι Γενικός Διευθυντής Χαρτοφυλακίου στην Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη.
Δέσποινα Χαράπη, που θα αναλάβει τη θέση της Chief HR Officer. Διαθέτει πάνω από 20 χρόνια εμπειρίας στη διαχείριση Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού, ενώ τα τελευταία 6 χρόνια είναι Chief Human Resources Officer στην Allianz Ελλάδος.

Aviva strengthens Executive Committee
Aviva, the UK’s leading insurer, announced the appointment of Andrea Montague as Chief Risk Officer* and John Cummings as Chief Information Officer*. Andrea and John will join Aviva’s Executive Committee and both will report to Amanda Blanc, Group Chief Executive Officer.

Andrea Montague joined Aviva in April 2020 as Group Chief Financial Controller and has previously worked at Royal London and Standard Life in senior finance and audit leadership roles, including Deputy Group Finance Director and Chief Internal Auditor.
John Cummings, Chief Information Officer*
John is already Aviva’s Group Chief Information Officer and was previously CIO for Aviva’s UK General Insurance business. John’s career in technology has included roles at Vodafone and BT. His appointment to Aviva’s Executive Committee reflects the critical importance of technology and digital to Aviva’s transformation.

New appointments to Alpha Bank’s Executive Committee
Moving forward in the implementation of its organizational restructuring program, as announced in November 2019, while aiming at enhancing productivity and offering high quality services to its Customers, Alpha Bank welcomes a new Senior Executive to its Management Team.
Effective December 1st, 2020, Mr. Stefanos Mytilineos is appointed General Manager – Chief Operating Officer and a Member of the Bank’s Executive Committee. Mr. Spyros Filaretos is appointed General Manager – Growth and Innovation of Alpha Bank, in order to reinforce the incorporation of innovative solutions to the Bank’s operating model, aiming at further enhancing, particularly through digital channels, our Customers’ service experience and the Group’s profitability.
Artemios Theodoridis is appointed Executive Chairman of Cepal
As announced by Alpha Bank in November 2019, Mr. Artemios Theodoridis, Alpha Bank’s General Manager – Non-Performing Loans to date, steps down from the Bank’s Management Team, while remaining a Member of its Board of Directors, and is appointed Executive Chairman of Cepal, effective December 1st, 2020. Mr. Theodoridis will lead the Company’s growth course, following the carve-out process of Alpha Bank’s NPE Management Unit onto Cepal, which is an integral part of the large Galaxy transaction and a decisive step towards rendering Cepal -the first servicer licensed in the Greek Market- as the leading NPE management company in Greece.

Short CV of Stefanos Mytilineos Stefanos
Mytilineos was born in Athens in 1973. He holds a First Class degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK, and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He brings onboard extensive international and Greek experience in technology, operations and business, having assumed managerial positions in Greece and abroad. He has been the Chief Technology Officer at Commercial Bank of Qatar and later on he was appointed General Manager, Digital Business at Piraeus Bank. Previously, he served as the Deputy Group CIO at Eurobank and a business consultant with McKinsey & Company, based in Athens and London.

Sofia Merlo is appointed Head of Group Human Resources and a member of BNP Paribas’ Executive Committee
Sofia Merlo is appointed Head of Group Human Resources and a member of BNP Paribas’ Executive Committee. She takes up her position on 2 November 2020, succeeding Yves Martrenchar, who becomes Senior Advisor on that date and who will lead a mission alongside the Group’s General Management until May next year, after which he will retire.
Sofia Merlo began her career in the Group in 1985 working with corporate clients at the head office and running the bank’s business centre for the South-West region in France.
In 2000 she joined the Group’s Human Resources department, where she became Group Head of Career Management in 2004 and notably launched the Group’s diversity and talent-management policies.
In 2009 Sofia Merlo joined the French Private Banking business and in 2010 was promoted to Head of French Private Banking. She was Co-Head of the Wealth Management business worldwide from 2012 to 2020.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis, member of the Board of BMCI in Morocco, and member of the Board of BNP Paribas Polska in Poland.

Gert-Jan Meppelink to step down from ABN AMRO Executive Committee
ABN AMRO has announced that Gert-Jan Meppelink will step down as a member of the Executive Committee on 1 August 2019. He is responsible for HR, Transformation & Communications (HTC) within the bank. Gert-Jan Meppelink will step down by mutual agreement in response to the proposed decision to regroup the HTC portfolio in light of ABN AMRO’s strategy.
Building a future-proof bank for our clients is one of the pillars of the bank’s strategy. Employees play a crucial role here, as they do in achieving the bank’s purpose ‘Banking for better, for generations to come’. The HTC portfolio will therefore focus more strongly on HR, which will continue to be a responsibility of the Executive Committee. Following from this, plans are to bring the Brand, Marketing & Communications department under the direct responsibility of the CEO.
In the past two years, Gert-Jan Meppelink has been closely involved in shaping the bank’s new senior management structure (2017) and in the transformation of the bank’s culture and leadership. He has also made a valuable contribution to developing the bank’s new purpose and refreshed strategy. Gert-Jan Meppelink will stay on as an advisor until 31 December 2019 and will leave ABN AMRO on 1 July 2020, in accordance with the contractual six-month period of notice.
