Howden acquires Cybeta platform to deliver enhanced cyber insurance solutions for US Clients

Howden has announced it has acquired the intellectual property assets of Cybeta, LLC (“Cybeta”), a leading cyber data and analytics provider. The acquisition enables Howden to provide clients with faster, more precise insight into cyber risk, supporting better underwriting, placement, and claims outcomes.
Cybeta was founded in 2019 by a team of data science experts with experience in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and intelligence communities to help businesses predict and prevent cyber attacks.
In addition to the acquisition, former members of Cybeta’s team also join Howden, bringing deep expertise in proactive, expert-driven cyber threat intelligence and predictive analytics to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks before they become breaches. This capability enables Howden to translate client cyber risk data into individualized, real-time risk profiles and improve insurability.
This acquisition follows the launch of Howden’s U.S. Cyber practice in January 2026, which supports clients across all aspects of cyber insurance including strategy, client service, brokerage, product development, claims and cyber risk consulting. By combining specialist advisory expertise with proprietary analytics, Howden is continuing to strengthen its ability to help clients navigate complex cyber insurance risk exposures.
Mike Parrish, CEO, Howden Americas, said: “We are investing aggressively in data, analytics, and cyber expertise, all aligned to clients’ most pressing concerns. Cybeta technology adds to that triple threat, deepening our capability to deliver meaningful insights with the urgency clients feel when it comes to cyber risk. Sector bellwethers like Juliet White and Ron Borys – who was instrumental in making this acquisition happen – are building a truly differentiated offering for clients. Much more innovation comes from these leaders and Howden’s Cyber practice.”
Juliet White, Head of Cyber, Howden US, said: “Clients with complex cyber exposures increasingly expect reliable, data-driven insight to support critical risk decisions. Cybeta’s outstanding data and analytics platform puts our clients first and deepens our advisory approach. Through the expanded solutions clients will gain a full picture of their cyber risk profile and make better informed insurance and risk management choices.”
Ron Borys, Head of Financial Lines, Howden US, said: “Cyber threats continue to evolve and remain a top risk concern for senior executives across all industries. Cybeta enhances our cyber offering by providing clients direct access to highly trained professionals with decades of experience monitoring and assessing complex cyber threats against highly targeted networks containing sensitive and valuable assets and data. This combination of highly trained and experienced professionals along with Cybeta’s proprietary cyber risk modelling and analytics technology enables Howden to deliver truly bespoke cyber risk insights that directly support and inform clients’ risk management decisions.
AXA XL unveils new cyber insurance extending coverage to help businesses manage emerging Gen AI risks

To help businesses manage risks arising from developing their own Generative AI (Gen AI) models, AXA XL unveiled new coverage, available by endorsement, to its cyber insurance coverage globally, extending coverage to address specific Gen AI risks.
According to Michael Colao, AXA XL’s Global Chief Underwriting Officer, Cyber, “Looking to improve efficiency, improve customer experience, and so much more, more companies are investing in developing their own Generative AI to unlock new possibilities. They must also be mindful of the risks that come with it, such as potential misuse, compliance issues, and the need for robust safeguards to ensure responsible and secure deployment.”
AXA XL’s new endorsement addresses the following new Gen AI risks that clients may face:
Data poisoning: Manipulating or contaminating the training data, not just the client’s data, used to develop machine learning models. By introducing misleading or false information into the training data, attackers can compromise the performance and accuracy of the resulting AI systems, leaving businesses with a costly data cleanup and litigation risks.
Usage rights infringement: Negligently failing to obtain appropriate permissions to use particular items or data, such as copyrighted materials, software licenses, and intellectual property in machine learning.
Regulatory violations: Liability resulting from the European Union’s AI Act which aims to regulate the development and deployment of AI systems.
“Our clients sought help navigating this unchartered territory and, with our brokers’ input and feedback, we’re pleased to develop an innovative, market-leading insurance solution to provide clear coverage for these risks and help them leverage Gen AI without the worry of potential risks and extra costs that could hinder their efforts,” Mr. Colao added.
The new Gen AI coverage is available by endorsement to AXA XL’s CyberRiskConnect policy, available throughout the U.S and Canada, U.K. and Lloyd’s market, and Europe and Asia.
Globally, AXA XL offers a range of cyber insurance products and services to help businesses protect themselves against cyber threats. Offerings include coverage for investigating and managing cyber incidents, financial protection against liabilities, and risk management services to strengthen cybersecurity.
