Change to the Board of Management of Munich Re

The Supervisory Board of Munich Re has appointed Dr. Achim Kassow (53) to the Board of Management with effect from 1 May 2020. He will succeed Hermann Pohlchristoph (54), who for personal reasons will not be extending his Board appointment, which expires on 30 April 2020, and will be leaving the company. The Board of Management and the Supervisory Board would like to thank Hermann Pohlchristoph for his seventeen years of commitment to Munich Re. Kassow will assume responsibility for Asia Pacific and Africa as well as for the central divisions Central Procurement and Services. He has been with Munich Re Group since 2016 and is currently Chairman of the Board of Management of ERGO Deutschland AG in Düsseldorf. He will be succeeded in this function by Theodoros Kokkalas (55), who is currently CEO of ERGO Greece.
Insurance Council of Australia adds Zurich, Allianz execs to board

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has strengthened its board with the appointment of two new directors.
Tim Plant, CEO general insurance at Zurich Financial Services Australia, and John Myler, CEO insurance at the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland.
Myler was previously chief market manager of Allianz Australia, and before that CEO Australia & New Zealand at Allianz Global Assistance.
ICA executive director and CEO Rob Whelan said: “Tim and John have a combined 45 years of insurance industry experience.
“John has held executive roles at Allianz, Customer Essential and Royal & Sun Alliance.
“Tim’s experience crosses insurance, reinsurance and financial services. Tim is also a director of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
“The ICA Board is looking forward to utilising their expertise, knowledge and perspective to help shape the ICA’s response to the regulatory, political and climate change challenges facing the insurance industry.”
Changes in the Board Composition at the Bank of Cyprus

Bank of Cyprus Holdings Public Limited Company (“BOC Holdings” and, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) and Bank of Cyprus Public Company Limited (the “Bank”) attheir corresponding meetings held today, 26 February 2019, appointed Mr EfstratiosGeorgios (Takis) Arapoglou to the Board of Directors on each of these Boards, subject to approval by the European Central Bank (“ECB”). After the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of 14 May 2019, the Boards intend also to consider Mr Arapoglou as acandidate to succeed Dr Josef Ackermann as Chairman, once the relevant process commences, consistent with the provisions of the Bank’s Corporate Governance Code. Ifselected, Mr Arapoglou would take up his duties after his board membership is approved by the ECB.
Mr Arapoglou is a well-known and highly reputed financial expert and consultant. He is a national of Greece and has extensive experience in international capital markets and incorporate, commercial and investment banking in South East Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Africa. He has served as Chairman and CEO of the National Bank of GreeceGroup, Chairman of the Hellenic Banks Association, Member of the Board of Eurobank, and has held senior management positions with Citibank and Chase Manhattan in the UKand with American Express in Greece. Currently, Mr Arapoglou is Chairman of the Board of Titan Cement, an international cement company listed on the Athens Exchange and ofTsakos Energy Navigation, a shipping company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr Arapoglou holds an MSc in Finance and Management from the University of Brunel, London, a BSc in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from the University ofGlasgow and a BA in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Athens.
At the same meetings both Boards decided to appoint Mr Ioannis Zographakis, currently Independent Non-Executive Director, as Senior Independent Director.
