Appointment of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Hellenic Bank

“Eurobank Ergasias Services and Holdings S.A.” (“Eurobank Holdings”) informs the investing community that, following the approvals granted by the Annual General Meeting of shareholders and the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited (Hellenic or Bank) on 18 September 2024, Mr. Michalis Louis assumes the duties of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hellenic, a new subsidiary of the Eurobank Holdings Group of companies.
In addition to his new role as CEO of Hellenic, Mr. Michalis Louis will continue to serve as a member of the Executive Board of Eurobank Holdings’ subsidiary “Eurobank S.A.” (“Eurobank” or “Bank”). It is reminded that the Executive Board of Eurobank is tasked with executing the Group’s strategy, as it is planned by the Bank’s Strategic Planning Committee and approved by the Boards of Directors of Eurobank Holdings and Eurobank.

Nancy Tower Appointed to Board of Directors of TD Bank Group

Nancy joins TD’s Board after an impressive 24-year career with Emera Inc., where she was most recently President & Chief Executive Officer of its U.S. subsidiary, Tampa Electric Company. She held a number of senior roles at Emera Inc. and its subsidiaries, including as Chief Corporate Development Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer of Emera Newfoundland and Labrador.
Nancy has served on Boards of Directors for both the public sector and non-profit organizations throughout her career. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Stanfield’s Ltd., AltaGas Ltd., and Finning International Inc. She has also given her time and leadership to non-profit organizations such as the United Way and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In 2011, she received WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
Nancy obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is a Chartered Accountant. She has also earned the Fellow Chartered Accountant designation.

WTW appointment boosts financial sector capabilities in Climate and Resilience Hub

WTW, a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, has appointed Joseph Noss as Senior Director, Finance Sector, in the company’s award-winning Climate and Resilience Hub (CRH). Noss will lead engagement with financial institutions, markets and regulators worldwide to support the transition to a resilient, net zero financial system. He began the London-based role on 1 March 2022.
A senior industry figure with over 15 years’ financial sector experience, Noss joins from his previous post at the G20 Financial Stability Board (FSB) in Basel, where he led on climate financial regulation for the banking, investment and insurance sectors. He played a key role in coordinating the FSB Climate Roadmap, which was published in July 2021 and will shape global climate policy and its implementation over the next five years. He also led work to assess climate-related risks to the financial system and to improve the quality and consistency of data and disclosures.
Prior to his time at the FSB, Noss spent over a decade at the Bank of England where he led work to analyse and develop policy across a variety of financial markets and institutions, including capital markets, asset management and insurance industries. He has also been involved in a variety of international policy work, including that by the Committee on the Global Financial System and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
Leading the CRH Financial Sector team, Noss will blend WTW people, capital and risk business lines to support financial institutions to develop and implement climate related strategies and reforms in response to developments concerning TCFD, financial regulation and wider market demands.

Groupe BPCE: Jérôme Terpereau appointed Head of Retail Banking & Insurance, Member of the Management Board

Meeting of 25.03.2022 under the chairmanship of Thierry Cahn, the Groupe BPCE Supervisory Board approved the proposal put forward by Laurent Mignon, CEO of Groupe BPCE, to appoint Jerôme Terpereau, as Head of Retail Banking & Insurance, Member of the Groupe BPCE Management Board, as from June 1.
Jérôme Terpereau is currently Chairman of the Management Board of Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes.

 

He will succeed Christine Fabresse, who has been appointed to chair the Management Board of Caisse d’Epargne Provence-Alpes-Corse (CEPAC) as from May 2, 2022.

Biography of Jérôme Terpereau, Head of Retail Banking & Insurance
Jérôme Terpereau, 53, holds a Master in Economic Science and a DESS specialist degree in Management of Financial and Banking Organizations from Paris IX Dauphine University and is a graduate of France’s Economics and Banking Institute (IEB) and the Centre for Higher Studies in Banking (CESB).
Jérôme Terpereau began with Caisse d’Épargne Centre Val-de-Loire in 1991 where he occupied various finance functions, before joining the Executive Committee in 2001 as Head of Financial Management. He subsequently moved to Caisse Nationale des Caisses d’Épargne in 2003 and became Head of Financial Engineering with responsibility for local government bodies and institutions, then Chief Budget Officer.
He was later appointed to the Management Board of Caisse d’Épargne Midi-Pyrénées in 2008, with responsibility for Finance and General Functions, as well as real estate and financing subsidiaries. In 2015, he was named Chief Executive Officer of BPCE Financement.
Since 2018, he has been Chairman of the Management Board of Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes.

MS Amlin strengthens its property team with the appointment of Nathan O’Donnell as Senior Underwriter

MS Amlin Underwriting Limited (MS AUL), the Lloyd’s global specialty (re)insurer, announced the appointment of Nathan O’Donnell as Senior Underwriter. Nathan joined the business on 7 March and reports to Sam Geddes, Head of Property and Allied Lines.
Nathan brings more than twenty years’ experience within the Lloyd’s market, with extensive expertise in direct and facultative property insurance, and a vast knowledge of the US and international property markets.
He was most recently a Senior Property Underwriter at Sirius International since 2017, where he managed the team and oversaw the 75% growth of the portfolio between 2019 – 2020. Prior to this, he held roles at Novae Group, Mitsui Sumitomo, Chaucer, and Heritage Managing Agency.

Barclays hires Themos Fiotakis as Head of FX Research

Barclays announced the appointment of Themistoklis (Themos) Fiotakis as Head of FX Research. Based in London, he will be responsible for driving FX forecasts across developed economies as well as the FX and Rates offering across emerging markets.
He joins from Glenpoint Capital where he was Head of Research. Prior to that, he worked in Global Macro and Markets Research at Goldman Sachs, and was Global Head of Rates and FX research at UBS.

Pacific Life Re Announces the Appointment of Brian Cronin as Head of Longevity Pricing in Europe and Surbhi Jadeja as Director, Longevity in Europe.

Pacific Life Re is pleased to announce the appointment of both Brian Cronin and Surbhi Jadeja into their new roles within its Europe Longevity team, as Head of Longevity Pricing and Director, Longevity respectively.
Brian has been with Pacific Life Re for 10 years, initially joining as a Pricing Analyst, before specialising in longevity pricing in 2017. Bringing with him significant pricing expertise.
Surbhi joined Pacific Life Re in 2015. After nearly four years in the Corporate Actuarial team, she moved to the Longevity Business Development team in late 2018, where she is responsible for working with clients on their pension risk transfer needs.

Amundi has announced the appointment of Alexander Preininger as Head of Institutional Clients Coverage

Alexander Preininger joins Amundi from Robeco Institutional Asset Management B.V. where he was Head of Institutional Coverage EMEA since February 2019. Prior to that, he was Head of Institutional Coverage EMEA at DWS Group since 2016. Alexander occupied several senior roles at DWS group. He was Global Co-Head Client Solutions from 2012 to 2017 and he also assumed the role of Head of Asset and Wealth Management at DWS in Japan from 2014 to 2016 based in Tokyo (Japan) during this time. Prior to that, Alexander was Global Head of Overlay Management at DWS from 2009 to 2012. He started his career as Senior Porfolio Manager in the Multi Asset Portfolio Management team in 2002 at DWS. Alexander holds a M.A. in international economics and business administration from University of Innsbruck, Austria and is a Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst (CEFA).

RMK Maritime expands into Greece with the appointment of Petros Kefalonitis

RMK Maritime (RMK) has appointed Petros Kefalonitis to lead its business in Athens as it expands its presence into the Greek market.
The new office will offer Greece-based clients the full range of RMK services, including direct lending through its Ascension Finance business.
Petros has been appointed to spearhead RMK’s origination efforts in Greece and the southern Mediterranean. He brings over 10 years’ experience in ship finance and has a wealth of expertise in managing successful marine transactions. Petros has been involved in originating and structuring over US$500m in debt and equity transactions, involving close to 100 vessels throughout his career.
Petros joins RMK from Super-Eco Management, the highly respected Greek tanker and bulker owner-operator, where he was Executive Finance Director. Prior to that, he was a Financial and Commercial Analyst at Lomar Shipping, a London based Greek owner of containerships, tankers and bulkers. Petros is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, where he was also a lecturer for 4 years. He continues to lecture on Market Cycles at Alba Business School as part of its MSc in Shipping Finance.

Pacific Life Re Announces the Appointment of Elaine Murphy as Head of Risk, Europe

Pacific Life Re is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Murphy as its Head of Risk in the Europe Business Unit.
Elaine will be stepping into the role as Daragh Brady moves to become Head of Finance and Strategy in August, later this year. Elaine joined Pacific Life Re’s Longevity team in 2018 before taking responsibility for the Longevity new business development team in November last year. She has led several high-profile Longevity transactions and contributed significantly to the company’s new product development. Elaine has worked in the insurance industry for over 11 years and brings a huge amount of commercial and technical experience to the new role.
