  • Drones θα χρησιμοποιεί για τα τροχαία η Hellas Direct

    Στην πιλοτική χρήση drones, τα οποία θα σπεύδουν στο σημείο όπου σημειώνεται τροχαίο ατύχημα, προχωρά η Hellas Direct.

    Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες του «Bήματος», η εταιρεία ήδη έχει αποκτήσει ένα drone, το οποίο πολύ σύντομα θα βγει στους δρόμους προκειμένου να χρησιμοποιηθεί συμπληρωματικά στις ασφαλιστικές υπηρεσίες της Hellas Direct.

    Ο σκοπός είναι να φτάνει στο σημείο ενός τροχαίου συμβάντος μέσα σε λίγα λεπτά, να καταγράφει το περιστατικό και σε απευθείας σύνδεση με τα κεντρικά της εταιρείας να δίνει real time συμβουλές στον πελάτη της Hellas Direct που έχει εμπλακεί σε τροχαίο.

    Συγκεκριμένα, το drone θα βιντεοσκοπεί το περιστατικό, θα μεταδίδει εικόνες από το σημείο προκειμένου να γίνεται ο έλεγχος στις πινακίδες του εμπλεκόμενου ΙΧ και η διασταύρωση για το εάν είναι ασφαλισμένο και θα υποβοηθά στη λήψη αποφάσεων, όπως για παράδειγμα για το εάν χρειάζεται η αποστολή οδικής βοήθειας.

    Στην Hellas Direct, η οποία έφερε στην Ελλάδα την ασφάλιση ΙΧ χωρίς μεσάζοντες, επένδυσε πρόσφατα η Third Point Hellenic Recovery Fund(TPHR), θυγατρική της Third Point LLC, από κοινού με το Endeavor Catalyst, το οποίο για πρώτη φορά συμμετέχει στο μετοχικό κεφάλαιο ευρωπαϊκής εταιρείας.

    H Hellas Direct ιδρύθηκε από δύο πρώην στελέχη της Goldman Sachs, τους κκ. Αιμίλιο Μάρκου και Αλέξη Πανταζή, οι οποίοι διέκριναν στην ύφεση μία σημαντική ευκαιρία στην ασφαλιστική αγορά.

  • Insurers Brace For Rising Risks of Drones

    A.M. Best TV episode insurers are saying surging demand for drones is adding a host of new liability and property exposures.
    The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that drones will out-number pilot planes in 20 years. With commercial enterprises falling under Federal Aviation Administration regulations, it is estimated that 40% of commercial business will be using drones in five years; as a result, insurers are preparing to offer commercial coverage.

    A.M. Best Assistant Vice President Henry Witmer addresses some of the liability issues involved with the use of drones. “The liability exposure far outweighs any physical damage exposure to the drones. A.M. Best has noted that on the liability side, there are two main areas of liability exposure: operating the drones and securing the data the drones will possess.”

    Additionally, Witmer spoke about the multiple levels of risk involved in using drones. “Risk management is critical, since there could be risks to the general populations, as well as, risks to a large gathering of people, as in the case of a concert. Insurers are going to have identify what the risks are, determine what the potential costs are involved in operating drones from a liability perspective and determine what potential lawsuits may arise from their usage.”
